Rule 138
Arrangements of the Committee
: (1) In case of a police officer's disability or his death under the circumstances as per rules 134 and 135, the following committee shall be established to make recommendations regarding the gratuity or gratuity to be received by the immediate family or descendants of such police officer:-
(a) Representative of the Ministry
(b) Representative of the Ministry of Finance (c) Medical representative of the concerned subject of Nepal Police Hospital
(d) Head of Staff Administration Branch of Police Head Office Explanation: For the purposes of this rule, the basis for determining the percentage of disability shall be as follows:-
(a) “eighty to one hundred per cent disability” means missing both eyes or both legs or both hands or one leg, one arm or whole body,
(b) "sixty to eighty-nine percent disability" means being unable to work, partially immobilized or without one eye or one arm or one leg,
(c) "Forty to ninety percent disability" means abnormally slurred speech or the whole body appears to be fit, stammers, staggers, or physically, speech, walking, or gait unfit to work as a police officer,
(d) The right to determine the percentage of disability other than the classification mentioned in clauses (a), (b) and (c) shall be in the medical ward constituted by the Government of Nepal.
(2) The Head of Personnel Administration Branch of the Police Head Office shall also act as the member secretary of the committee as per sub-rule (1).
(3) Experts in related subjects may be invited to the committee under sub-rule (1).
